My First Big Performance

My aerial yoga/circus school instructors are the Detroit Circus Troupe and have asked me to guest perform with them at a corporate event in a couple weeks. This is a huge opportunity for me and I am so excited. I've only been in aerial classes for 7 months and they're already ready to put me in a performance to see how I handle it. Everything has been happening so fast and it feels like a dream. I get three practice sessions and then I have to perform. I'll keep you updated and let you know how everything goes. I don't think anyone even reads my blog entries but I don't mind talking to myself ;)
The above photos are from my showcase performance last month. That was the first and only time I've ever performed in front of a crowd.

Cheetah Platt and updates

Cheetah Platt, who has done things with Cirque Du Soleil and various other circuses, is coming to my aerial circus school to teach some workshops! I'm going to be doing a partner acro workshop that he's teaching on the 9th and I am so excited!

Getting to know me

My name is Megan, I'm 16 and my dream is to be an aerialist in the circus. I started taking aerial yoga classes 6 months ago and I fell in love with it. It's always been my dream to be an aerial artist but I never thought the opportunity would come up. This blog is dedicated to my passion.

These are just some of the many pictures I have. I will keep you updated on how everything's going. Also, if you have any suggestions of new things I should try, let me know! So far I have used aerial fabric, static trapeze, and lyra, taken acro (partner acrobatic) yoga classes (see second picture), performed downtown hula-hooping at the art fair with some performers I met, and I have eaten fire. I love trying new things!
That's a little about me, now tell me about you. :)
